New session at Kunskapsskolan to take off shortly
Kunskapsskolan system of education,
conceptualized in Sweden in 1999, now
plans to introduce its K -12, KED programme adapted to the Indian CBSE
curriculum from the coming academic session April 2016 in Lucknow. In keeping
with cultural tradition, a havan was performed at the school at the launch of
the session. Parents and children participated with enthusiasm and zeal .
Academic Head Mr. Linus
Gellerstedt said: “On the occasion of starting a new session at Kunskapsskolan,
“The KED program is a concept for personalized education. The aim of the
program is to provide students with a global perspective and the ability live
the concept of “vasudhaiv kutumbakam” by exposing them to an opportunity to
learn global curriculums.”
“An unpredictable future calls
for a competence comprised of different skills, abilities and insights as well
as factual knowledge. The link between strong academic knowledge, the ability
to identify context and the flexibility to adapt to different situations, all are
essential. Exposing the students to challenging situations and fostering inquisitiveness
in them apart from stimulating a critical, creative, and flexible thinking in
them, is our motto,” added Mr. Linus Gellerstedt.
An orientation session was held
after the hawan where parents were familiarized and the unique KED methodology
that is built on personalization of education. The programme weaves academic
excellence with study skills as well as life skills. An integrated and
structured approach that forms the basis of holistic development. KED
programme’s collective and web-based source of wisdom can turn the traditional
equation of education from ‘starts with the building and ends with the student’
to ‘start with the student and ends with knowledge’.
